Security agencies have released sketches of three suspected terrorists involved in the recent attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists and left several others injured. The suspects are Asif Fuji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha.

It is suspected that the assailants are affiliated with The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy outfit associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a proscribed terror group. The incident is also noted for occurring at Baisaran Meadow, one of the most picturesque sites in the region, which tourists frequent. Recently, this has been one of the most lethal terrorist attacks in the area.

Top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Saifullah Kasuri has been named as the mastermind behind the attack. Authorities are continuing their investigation and search operations.

At least five to six terrorists, dressed in a mix of camouflage gear and kurta-pyjamas, emerged from the dense pine forests surrounding the Baisaran meadow and opened fire with AK-47 rifles.

According to intelligence sources, the group behind the Pahalgam attack included Pakistani terrorists who had infiltrated the Kashmir Valley just days before the assault. Security agencies have identified the mastermind as Saifullah Kasuri, also known by the alias Khalid, a senior commander of the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

In response, security forces have launched a large-scale anti-terror operation, deploying helicopters to scan the dense forest terrain the attackers used to escape. The heavily wooded area around Baisaran meadow provided cover for their retreat.

Preliminary forensic reports, along with eyewitness accounts, reveal that the terrorists were equipped with military-grade weaponry and sophisticated communication tools—strong indicators of external logistical and operational support.

The calculated execution of the massacre suggests the involvement of highly trained operatives and experienced handlers, rather than untrained local recruits.

Further intelligence analysis has traced the attackers’ digital footprints to safe houses located in Muzaffarabad and Karachi, further reinforcing the evidence of cross-border involvement in the attack.
