Government Museum and Art Gallery

The partition of India in 1947 brought about the establishment of the Government Museum and Art Gallery. Previously, the Central Museum was where the properties in the museum were decorated. Following partition, Pakistan acquired up to 6% of Central Museum’s property, while others were transferred to the Government Museum & Art Gallery of Chandigarh.
